18th Century George III Mahogany Needlework Panel Pole Screen
18th Century George III Mahogany Needlework Panel Pole Screen, circa 1750.
This antique fireplace pole screen measures 56 inches tall and was intended to be used by a woman who has makeup on and wants to sit near the fire.
The base is a tripod and measures 18 inches wide.
The screen itself measures 22.5 inches tall by 16.5 inches wide.
The screen would prevent the heat from melting the makeup and causing it to run while allowing the woman to still stay warm.
The pole screen has an excellent needlework panel and is in a remarkable state of preservation.
