    This antique wall art is a portrait of a woman painted in Oil on canvas and measures 32 inches tall by 26 inches wide.

    In the portrait painting measures 39 inches tall by 33 inches wide in the gilded gold leaf picture frame.

    This artwork is signed in the upper right corner by Mary Coolidge and bears an exhibition label of the Copley Society on the back.

    This piece has been cleaned and restored and is in a nice frame.

    Mary Rosamond Coolidge was a Boston area artist of some note. She was a well known portrait painter and a graduate of Massachusetts Normal Art School and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School.

    Mary Coolidge studied with Anson K. Cross, Wilbur Dean Hamilton, Edmund C. Tarbell, and C.H. Woodbury.

    She painted at Fenway Studios in 1913 and 1931 through 1958.

    She exhibited many places including: AIC, 1909, 1912-14; PAFA, 1910, 1913, 1914, 1918; Corcoran Gal, 1914, 1926; NAD, 1922; Ogunquit AC, 1938; North Shore AA; 1940; Newport AA, 1940-42; Boston AC; S.Indp.A.; Lg. Am. Pen Women, 1946 (prize); Jordan Marsh Co., 1947 (gold medal).
